Powstanie Connecticut Toro
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut
Binder: Pennsylvania Broadleaf
Filler: Nicaraguan
This week I am reviewing the new Powstanie Connecticut.
This cigar in my opinion will be the best Connecticut cigar released this year. It’s another Connecticut with a bit of a kick! Upon lighting this cigar I got some great peppery notes… Wait I’m sorry, I got a nice pepper bomb which got me enticed right away. I also got some nice sweet notes that tasted like graham crackers and beautiful floral notes with a creamy finish. I also tasted some red pepper in the background of the smoke which helps keep my palate interested throughout the time I am smoking.
Towards the middle of the smoke I tasted some nice cedar notes as well. Overall this cigar is very well rounded, it’s definitely not a mild Connecticut, it’s a solid medium in strength level. This cigar would be good for the person that likes something milder in the morning but likes a kick, but doesn’t want to have a total ass kicker first thing in the morning.
The Powstanie Connecticut can also be smoked anytime of the day which makes it a very diverse cigar for the consumer who likes to switch it up from time to time. I got zero bitterness when smoking and was able to take it right to the nub and burn my fingers, I didn’t want to put it down! For those wondering if I am gaslighting Mike the owner of Powstanie, rest assured that this cigar is one of the few that can live up to the hype and stand in the paint every single time!
