Highclere Castle Victorian Robusto
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
Binder: Brazilian Matafina
Filler: Nicaraguan (Jalapa, Estili and Ometepe Corojo and criollo)
This week I am reviewing the Highclere Castle Victorian Robusto that we just got in from Foundation Cigar Company.
Upon first lighting this cigar I got some raisin and dried fruit notes combined with some floral notes. Eventually it transitioned to sweet and cedar notes. As I got more into the smoke I started to taste Graham Cracker notes, baking spice and just a touch of black pepper but not enough to classify as a peppery.
This cigar burned well throughout the smoking experience. Towards the middle of the cigar some of the sweetness came back but this time I got a slightly sweeter Graham Cracker and Molasses nuance. The Highclere Castle ended on a great note with some baking spice notes and wasn’t bitter.
It was a solid medium bodied smoke all the way through. Next time you stop in you should definitely try one! We carry the Robusto and Churchill sizes.
