Rock-A-Feller Cigars Dominican Blue Short Pyramid
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
Binder: Sumatra
Filler: Dominican Piloto, Seco HVA
This week I am continuing my journey through Rock-A-Feller Cigars and smoking the Dominican Blue Short Pyramid.
This cigar is a collaboration between Victor De La Cruz from Tabacalera L&V S.R.L. and Kevin Schweitzer to add to the already successful Rock-A-Feller Cigars portfolio. It’s been out for a few years and honestly it is one of the most different in the line up because it does contain Dominican tobacco.
Upon the first light of Dominican blue I tasted a nice sweet note almost from the beginning along with charred oaky notes. The more I smoked I started to taste some creamy nutty notes and the sweetness continued in the background. Eventually I started to taste some pepper and hints of cinnamon and sunflower seeds which turned into a little bit more of a floral note.
At about the halfway point I tasted notes that reminded me of Graham crackers and brown sugar. Eventually the cigar got earthy and a little bit of spice ensued. It burned kind of weird because I accidentally dropped the cigar twice while smoking it, however that isn’t the all the time experience while smoking this cigar!
This smoke ended on a great note without bitterness. You definitely have to give it a try! Next time you come in make sure to ask for Rock-A-Feller Cigars Dominican Blue. Remember Kevin Schweitzer will be here February 29th from 5-8 PM so come out and experience the magic of Rock-A-Feller!
