Coming off our 5-Year Anniversary celebration featuring Mbombay, it only felt right to sit down and properly review the MQBA Mayura Robusto. I’ll be upfront — this is one of their more premium offerings, and after spending quality time with it, I can confidently say this cigar earns its keep.
Mbombay MQBA Mayura Robusto
From the first light, the MQBA opens with a distinct sweetness reminiscent of graham cracker, layered with a subtle touch of cedar. That profile gently transitions into a brief earthy phase before revealing a faint hint of red pepper and baking spice. The spice notes make their presence known without overpowering the palate, then gradually fade, allowing a natural molasses-like sweetness to take center stage.
Strength-wise, this cigar stays comfortably in the smooth category. It never overwhelms, maintaining balance and refinement from start to finish. The ash holds firm and impressively tight — a testament to both its age and construction.
Around the halfway point, a light cinnamon note emerges — subtle, unexpected, and incredibly welcome. From there, the cigar leans back into its sweeter characteristics, which remain consistent through the final third. If you appreciate a refined, sweeter-leaning profile with complexity and composure, this one absolutely delivers.
Construction is excellent. The flavor is layered and elegant. And for those who know, the MQBA sits in that upper-tier category for a reason.
