Córdoba And Morales Raspadura Robusto
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut
Binder: Sumatra
Filler: Ometepe and Condega
This week I am reviewing a new offering from Cordoba and Morales called Raspadura which is a sweet tipped cigar (Brown sugar) that was inspired by a unique treat to cuban natives known as Raspadura which is made from sugar cane and is often served as an easy, quick affordable dessert.
It also wasn’t uncommon for Raspadura to be used in food rationing on the island. This combined with the rich history of tobacco harvesting in Cuba makes for truly a one of a kind cigar! With the background of this cigar out of the way let’s get into the cigar itself!
When I lit this up I got some sweet notes right off the bat that definitely reminded me of Sugar Cane! There were also some subtle earthy and grassy undertones to the smoke to start it off. I then started to taste charred notes and hay with a little bit of maple syrup and cinnamon (Emphasis on a little bit).
After smoking for a little while I then got a little bit of spice on my tongue mixed with a small amount of citrus notes. The cigar then leveled out a little bit and it returned to the sweet notes at about the halfway mark. As I smoked this cigar for the final duration the flavor notes didn’t change much. Overall it was a good smoking experience.
I do have to mention that it wasn’t a favorite of mine however it is still worth checking out if you like a cigar with a sweet tip then this is certainly up your alley and you definitely have to check this cigar out. Ask about it next time you come in!
Check out next week’s Shirtless Mike’s cigar of the week!
