Tatuaje PCA 2023 Exclusive
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sumatra
Binder: Nicaraguan Double Binder
Filler: Nicaraguan
This week I am smoking the Tatuaje PCA 2023 Exclusive.
This is a blend that was made in order to raise money for the PCA’s lobbying efforts, this is a limited release of 2,500 20 boxes of 20.
.50 cents from each cigar sold will go to the PCA. If you are an average consumer you might not be aware of what the PCA or Premium Cigar Association does, this is our cigar industry trade group and they run lobbying efforts in Washington DC when it comes to laws that affect us in the premium cigar industry. Every year there is a trade show for manufacturers and retailers where business takes place and business relationships are fostered. This is just a small snap shot on what the PCA does and who they are.
Now enough with the background on PCA let’s get into this cigar!
As I first lit up I tasted heavy earthy notes but then it quickly opened up to notes of cherry and pepper. Spiciness eventually starts to pop up and there is a very faint sweetness in the background. Eventually the earthiness came back and I also got some hints of cumin and baking spices. Eventually the cigar became spicy with the type of spice that reminded me of red pepper around the halfway point. It also became slightly bitter, it was more of a bite on the tongue but it didn’t last for too long. After the bite subsided I tasted hints of graham cracker and a small hint of cinnamon and the spicy notes came back until the end of the smoke.
This honestly isn’t my favorite Tatuaje (my boss liked it) but it is a solid cigar, It smoked great and was certainly enjoyable to me nonetheless. This is a limited edition cigar so come in to try it while we still have it! Look for it in the Tatuaje section of the humidor.
Check out next week’s Shirtless Mike’s cigar of the week!
