Nica Rustica Toro
Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf
Binder: Mexican San Andreas
Filler: Nicaragua
This week I am reviewing Nica Rustica by Drew Estate which is one of their more popular cigars and we have recently brought them into the store. This cigar is a great selection not only for the flavor that you get but also for the price! This is very budget friendly! Let’s light up this cigar and see what it does.
Upon first light and my first puff I got some earthy and hearty flavors right off the bat. Along with the earth I tasted quite a bit of leather and roasted coffee beans. I also got some woodsy and hay notes in the mix. One unique thing about this cigar is that the smoke output when you aren’t puffing on the cigar is incredible! If you like a really smokey cigar then Nica Rustica is surely for you.
Moving on I also got some black pepper and hints of baking spice with earth remaining in the background of the smoke. As I kept smoking I also started to taste some red pepper notes which added quite a bit more spice. The more I smoked the meatier the cigar was. Referring to a cigar as meaty is referring to how the smoke coats your mouth and how heavy it feels when the smoke is in your mouth.
Towards the middle of the smoke I started to taste a sweetness which added a creaminess to the smoke after a while. Throughout the whole smoke the burn was great and I did not experience any bitterness. I also had to relight a few times to finish putting away orders and I never got any harshness when relighting.
You definitely should check out this cigar next time you visit the shop. We carry both the Robusto and Toro Sizes!
