Arturo Fuente Anejo No. 46 Maduro
Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf
Binder: Dominican
Filler: Dominican
This week I am going to be smoking one of the cigars that we get seasonally in the shop from Arturo Fuente Cigars. The Anejo line is one of the hardest to find cigars on the market. With a beautiful Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and Dominican binders and fillers (Rumored to be the same fillers as Opus X, Don Carlos and Hemingway cigars.)
The Anejo blends are also aged in a cognac barrel. This cigar is a welcome yearly treat as these usually come out around the holidays every year and won’t last very long, so this review is me taking the opportunity to smoke one, but it’s for work so I can say that I am “Working!” Let’s light up and see how this cigar is!
Upon the first light I tasted deep earthy notes with hints of red pepper, cocoa and baking spice. After a few minutes of smoking I started to taste hints of cinnamon that eventually transitioned to a deep black pepper and became a pepper bomb! I am about a quarter of the way into the cigar and so far it’s burning well, the ash held on great and I only ashed it voluntarily so I don’t accidentally ash all over the place.
After the pepper bomb died down a little I started to taste some hearty notes along with some dark espresso and roasted peanuts. On the back end of things I also tasted some dark chocolate. This cigar has been enjoyable so far and glad I decided to go with this today!
As I keep smoking, the chocolate notes are still prevalent and still enjoyable. As this cigar ended I didn’t get any bitterness and really enjoyed this cigar!
I highly recommend that you come in and try it along with the other sizes before they sell out! We currently have 1 box of each size and they won’t last long! They are located on the table next to our Xikar display as you walk in the shop! I also want to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving!
