Oscar Valladares 2012 Connecticut
Wrapper: Connecticut
Binder: Honduran
Filler: Honduran/ Nicaraguan
This week I am Smoking the Oscar 2012 Connecticut by Oscar Valladares. I chose this cigar because I don’t review nearly enough Connecticut wrapped cigars. So this week I am switching it up so that I can spotlight for those who prefer more of a milder cigar. Let’s light it up and see what it’s all about!
As I started smoking this cigar I started to taste toasted almonds, Sweet Cream and a little bit of cedar. All very smooth and light notes to start off tasting. As I kept smoking I started to taste some creamy and buttery notes, which then morphed into red pepper and eventually started to taste baking spices, cinnamon and cumin.
The mix of Nicaraguan and Honduran tobacco is a great combination because you get the spiciness from the Nicaraguan Tobacco and the earthiness from Honduran Tobacco. Towards the middle of the cigar I kept getting most of the same flavor notes except I tasted red pepper a little more prevalent this time around.
This cigar is burning great and performing well, I haven’t had any burn issues which is a great sign! This cigar ends on a great note with some more creaminess, nutty notes and zero bitterness. This cigar will be a welcomed treat for the mild cigar smoker. It is a great price point and a great cigar that you can enjoy daily! Come in today and ask for the Oscar Valladares 2012 Connecticut!
