Cavalier Genève USA Regional Exclusive Robusto
Wrapper: San Andres
Binder: Connecticut
Filler: U.S., Nicaragua, Honduras, Dominican Republic
Cavalier Genève has earned a reputation for refined craftsmanship and, of course, their signature gold diamond (which is food grade gold) that sets every cigar apart. After getting to know this brand and their lineup, we felt the USA Regional Exclusive deserved a place in our humidor. Today, we’re lighting up the robusto to see how it performs.
Right from the first light, bold flavors of black and red pepper hit the palate. A retrohale brought those pepper notes out even more sharply, adding a spicy kick that made the opening especially enjoyable. As the cigar settled in, notes of cocoa—think dark baking powder—joined the mix, balanced by touches of citrus and a subtle mineral quality in the background.
As the smoke progressed, nutty flavors reminiscent of cashew developed, while the pepper remained a steady presence. When I reached the gold diamond, the ash dropped cleanly, holding firm up until that point. For those curious—you can smoke right through the gold; it doesn’t affect the flavor at all, but it does make for a striking detail as the ash falls.
In the final stretch, the profile shifted again, this time toward a dry baking spice, with a hint of cinnamon lingering in the background. The cigar finished medium-bodied overall—flavorful without being overwhelming, making it approachable yet complex enough to stay interesting.
If you’re looking for a cigar that delivers spice, sweetness, and balance in one easygoing smoke, the Cavalier Genève USA Regional Exclusive Robusto is well worth trying. We’re excited to feature it in our humidor, and this is just the beginning—more Cavalier reviews are on the way. Next time you stop in, ask us about this standout cigar!
