Shirtless Mike's Cigar of the Week- May 16, 2024 - Trinidad Espiritu No. 3 Toro
Trinidad Espiritu No. 3 Toro

This week I am reviewing the Trinidad Espiritu No. 3 Boxed Press Toro. This week’s review is unique because we don’t currently carry this cigar, Lou has been hesitant on carrying it and our rep Ryan has been bugging him for a long time for us to bring in this cigar.

I have smoked this cigar a few times and I agree that this cigar is worth bringing in but you have to keep in mind that my style isn’t to beg, I have too much pride for that! So with that being said Lou decided to see if this cigar would sell so he is bringing it in for our next cut and light and he asked me to help get the word out about this cigar becoming available then, so If you like the flavor notes that I am about to share then come in and try them for yourself!

Let’s get started! Upon the first light I got some earthy notes and a little bit of black pepper along with some spicy notes. I also tasted some cocoa notes on the back end. This is just the first part of the cigar! As I kept smoking it I started to get hints of dried fruit and there was a rich velvety texture coating my palate which isn’t something I typically experience but it made the smoke an enjoyable one so far!

I also tasted hints of nutmeg and cinnamon during this portion of the smoke and if you read my reviews you know that these are some of my favorite flavor notes and I often taste them in various cigars that I smoke. I don’t know if it’s a pattern or if I just know how to pick em’ but I will go with the latter and continue telling you about this smoke.

At the end of  the smoke I tasted a bold smoky note. When I say bold and smoky it reminded me of a nice woodsy profile while I was smoking this portion of the cigar, however I also got a tangy citrus note but the aftertaste was earthy, spicy and a hint of dark chocolate.

Overall this was an enjoyable cigar from start to finish. I know we previously carried the Trinidad Espiritu No. 1 and the response wasn’t as celebrated as other cigars but I do know that we have lots of full bodied cigar lovers at Smoke Rings and I feel like this cigar will do well for the bold smokers! The only way to find out is to come to our next Cut and Light on May 30th from 5-8 pm and try some to find out for yourself!

Check out next week’s Shirtless Mike’s cigar of the week!
