Room 101 Louis’ Red Rocket
Wrapper: San Andreas
Binder: Undisclosed
Filler: Undisclosed
This week I am reviewing Louis’ Red Rocket which is a collaboration between Room 101 cigars and sir Louis cigars (A popular retailer out of Massachusetts)
Matt Booth and Hunter the proprietor of Sir Louis cigars are pretty good friends and collaborated on this cigar as a way to give a shout out to other weirdos in the cigar world as a way to continue to promote inclusion, which is what the cigar world is known for.
This cigar was produced at the Tabacalera William Ventura factory in the Dominican Republic and features a Mexican San Andreas Wrapper and they decided to not disclose the binder and filler! Now that we have the background out of the way let’s light it up and see what this cigar is all about!
As I lit up this cigar I started to taste deep earthy but dark chocolate notes along with hints of cherry’s, very faint in the background. After smoking the cigar for a few minutes I tasted hints of barnyard and earth but the faint hint of cherries were still in the background of the smoke. These flavor notes stayed pretty consistent and pretty much stayed through each quarter of the cigar. The burn was good and the ash held on pretty well except it did get a little flakey.
At about the halfway mark I started to taste some nice black pepper notes along with hints of baking spice and a faint hint of floral notes. Throughout this smoke it was medium to full bodied the whole time and kept me engaged while smoking it. This cigar ends on an earthy note and with a little spice that eventually mellows out until the end.
You definitely need to try this cigar, especially if you are a fan of Room 101 cigars or if you just want to try something new! Ask about Louis’ Red Rocket next time you come in!
