Hello Smoke Rings 72 Friends! I know it’s been a while but life at the shop has been busy so I am getting back into the swing of things and finally bringing you another review!
This week I am smoking “The Daily Paper Cameroon”. You might have already tried one of these blends since we brought them in a few months back and I haven’t reviewed them so I am going to smoke one and write my thoughts about this cigar! For starters the cigar comes wrapped in newspapers from Cuba instead of using cellophane, hence the name “Daily Paper.” When you unwrap the cigar you get a well made cigar that is reminiscent of a Cohiba Behike sized cigar. Now let’s light it up and see how it is!
Upon the first few puffs I got lots of floral and sweet creamy notes to start with. As I keep smoking I start to get earthy and woody undertones. Earth then starts to take precedence in this smoke however I am still getting some sweet creamy and floral notes the more I smoke it.
At about the halfway mark the strength increased just a small amount and I got some light red pepper notes for a few minutes and then it transitioned to a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg. The sweetness in the tobacco has come back. This cigar is burning great and I haven’t had any issues with it going out on me. As I smoked the rest of the cigar it remained smooth and still mild. Creaminess and earth eventually came back into the flavor wheel and rounded out with a light spice and then it mellowed back out with indistinct flavor notes before finally finishing the smoke!
If you haven’t checked out this cigar I suggest you do. The Daily Paper Maduro has already been a shop favorite. I recommend that you try both blends and see which one you like more!
