Chaffiot Collection Freedom Fighter Lancero
Wrapper: Brazilian Mata Fina
Binder: Ecuadorian Habano
This cigar review is a little more personal for me because I have have known Justin and Crystal Chaffiot for quite a while now, even before entering the cigar business in fact when he first started Chaffiot collection cigars I did a little consulting as a friend and suggested he switch factories and ever since he did this boutique brand has had massive success!
Chaffiot Collection is a local brand born from Brevard County, Florida and is starting to make waves outside of Florida.
Part of their mission is to bring awareness to the issue of Human trafficking with their tag line being it’s time to see human trafficking go up in smoke… So far as a brand they have donated over $7,000 to organizations that they partner with that combat human trafficking including; Life Recaptured, Run against traffic and Bikers against human trafficking.
Now that I have given you a little background about the brand, it is time to smoke The Freedom Fighter in the lancero size as well as churchill. Upon first light I was greeted with nice notes of dark chocolate and citrus which reminded me of an orange peel. Later on I got some notes of cinnamon and pepper which was a nice combination. The flavor notes that I experienced stuck around for a while. I also got some coffee notes along with savory notes. Eventually the cigar transitioned to a note that reminded me of sunflower seeds. After a few minutes I got more spicy note. As I got towards the end the flavor of the cigar got more sweet but an undefined sweetness. I never got any bitterness out of the cigar.
Overall it was a great experience. The cigar was a medium to full throughout the whole smoking experience.
If you like medium to full body cigars then The Freedom Fighter is well worth it to check out! Be sure to join us on January 26th, 2023 from 6-8pm for a cut and light with Chaffiot Collection Cigars. It is sure to be a great time!
