This week, I’m excited to introduce you to the Mbombay Gaaja Maduro Robusto, a revival of a brand that made waves in 2017 before disappearing from the scene. Now back with the same passion and blends that sparked its initial success, Mbombay is worth revisiting. Let’s dive into the Gaaja Maduro, named after the Sanskrit word for elephant, symbolizing the patient and deliberate approach of its creator, Mel Shah.

The Gaaja Maduro Robusto boasts a Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper, Ecuador HVA Seca Mejorada binder, and a complex blend of fillers from Peru, Ecuador, Paraguay, and the Dominican Republic. Upon lighting, the cigar unfurls with floral and earthy notes, rich cocoa, citrus, and a hint of baking spice. As it progresses, the earthy notes deepen, giving way to coffee and cocoa flavors with a subtle kick of red pepper.

The halfway point brings cedar notes to the forefront, accompanied by baking spice and a bold black pepper presence.
